Dungdanji

 To attain enlightenment regarding something means that we have completely made it our own. For reference, enlightenment is entirely different from understanding.  For instance, there is a phrase that we should regard as the most fundamental guide in life: "Confirm." If someone comes to attain enlightenment regarding this phrase through cause and effect, whenever they encounter objects or facts they are not fully aware of, they would spontaneously practice the act of confirming them.

 When encountering things and affairs of the world, understanding them, judging them, making decisions, and acting upon them, we must possess the right standards. This is a principle that we must invariably uphold as we navigate the world.  The standards held by most people are shaped by their own desires or ideals. The right standards exist within the very things and affairs of the world that we must judge and decide upon—that is, within what exists.
